To our valued customers,

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. Unfortunately, due to recent directive by the Governor, Simi Valley Toyota has closed our new and used sales departments until further notice in an effort to do our part by helping flatten the curve and ensure the health and safety of the community and our employees.

With that being said, service and parts departments have been deemed an essential service and our departments will and have remained opened to assist you with any needs your vehicle may need in the weeks to come.

We understand that this is a very trying time but keeping your vehicle healthy is crucial. We encourage you to schedule a service appointment with our team online today or you can give us a call to choose a convenient time that best fits your schedule. You can schedule below.

If you would like to shop for a new or used vehicle at this time, our eCommerce department will be responding to your requests and can arrange delivery to your location. You can also contact us via an online form or message our Facebook page and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible.

We will keep you updated as more details become available and we appreciate your continued support and loyalty to our dealership. If you have any questions, an operator will be able to assist you, we ask that you call (805) 456-6600.

We are all in this together and we hope to be back serving our community soon!

With spring right around the corner and recent events, we are bringing you a guide on how to clean up your ride and ensure that it is safe for you and your family. While we understand this can be a stressful time, we assure you that we are taking extreme measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers and team members. We know you’re taking extra precautions to keep your home clean and you should do the same with your vehicle. This week’s blog is dedicated to the cleaning of your vehicle. So please take a moment to go over our guide and give our team a call if you have any questions or you are in need of assistance!

Vacuum cleaner

  • We recommend that you start your cleaning process with a little vacuuming. Or if you’d like to take things a step further, a steam machine will work! We also recommend grabbing those hose attachments so you can get into those hard to reach spots. Front to back, clean your entire vehicle and don’t forget to get under the floor mats too.

Disinfect all touchpoints

  • We know there are a lot of germs floating around which means it’s crucial to disinfect all touchpoints in your vehicle. From the volume/ temperature controls to the door handles to the dashboard, if there’s a chance you touched it, clean it. We recommend using the same cleaning products you already have in your household.

Air vents & filters

  • It’s very common that germs have made your air vents and filters their home. Which makes it very important to clean these areas of your vehicle extensively. Using the same cleaning products as above, clean out your air vents. For those hard to reach areas, q-tips work great. For your air filters, it’s a smart idea to replace them altogether.

At Simi Valley Toyota, we’re all about keeping you safe on the roadway and with the change in seasons, it’s time to freshen up on those spring driving tips. So, take a look below and be sure to put those to good use this spring. And if your Toyota is in need of service, be sure to schedule your service appointment with us or stop in to see if we can squeeze you in today!

Be on the lookout for potholes

  • We all know what a pothole is, at least I hope we do. Extreme weather takes a toll on our roadways and eventually leads to massive potholes on the road. Hitting one can lead to punctured tires, bent wheels, suspension damage, poor alignment, and exhaust damage. So steer clear from these devils to avoid expensive auto repair.

Watch for animals and people on the move

  • Spring is known for warmer weather which means animal activity and people start to emerge to enjoy the warmer temperatures. It’s important to take things slow, be aware, and mindful that you’re now sharing the road again with others.

Pay attention in construction zones

  • Spring is the busiest time when it comes to construction. We encourage you to be attentive, understand and follow signs, make safe lane changes, and of course, slow down when you’re passing through or approaching the zones.

Have you started planning your next road trip? If so, are you the type of driver that lets your fuel pump get so low that you’re worried you might not make it to the next gas station? If that is you, we’re here to tell you to CUT THAT OUT! Did you know that you’re causing damage to your vehicle? You sure are! And this week we are going to tell you all about that. So check out our most asked questions when it comes to your Toyota’s fuel gauge and stop in to see us for an upgrade before you hit the road this spring!

Is it dangerous to drive with the low fuel warning light on?

  • When this light illuminates, you’re starting to run the chance that your vehicle could run out of gas, which is not only a hassle but it puts you into a dangerous situation especially if you’re out on the highway or in remote locations.
  • It’s also dangerous for your vehicle. Running low or completely out of gas can cause damage to your catalytic converter which may need to be repaired or replaced. When you run low on fuel, the contaminants or debris that have sunk to the bottom of your tank are now being sucked into your fuel pump. This can also cause issues that will end up being expensive to repair.

How far can I drive on empty?

  • Depending on your driving habits, current conditions, and your vehicle really results in how far you can drive once your empty fuel light illuminates. You may be surprised how few miles you can travel once your light is on and we recommend reading your owner’s manual for answers. And also, don’t push it. It’s better to fill up the tank when you only have ¼ of a tank left!

How trusty is your distance to empty?

  • Most modern vehicles have a distance to empty gauge but this is a dangerous practice if you try to wait until the very last mile. The distance to empty is simply a mere estimate and not a definitive answer to how many miles you have left. So depending on current driving conditions, the actual mileage could vary.

When was the last time you serviced your Toyota? In fact, can you even remember when the last time you serviced your Toyota was?
